Rice Dhokla

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice
  • 1/2 cup urad dal
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For Seasoning

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard and cumin seeds
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 1 tsp curry leaves

Method

    1. Soak the rice and dat for an hour.
    2. 2, Grind the rice and dal, along with buttermilk and salt to a thick batter. Leave the batter aside for a few hours.
    3. Pour the batter on to a greased plate and steam it for 5 minutes.
    4. Cut it into desired shapes and sizes.
    5. Heat oil and fry the seasoning ingredients. Pour it over the dhokla pieces.
    6. Serve hot with curd, chutney or sauce.
