Rice Delicacy

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rice rawa
  • 1/2 cup moong dal
  • 1/4 tsp pepper powder
  • 1/4 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For Seasoning

  • 1 tsp ghee
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cashewnuts
  • 1 tsp curry leaves
  • 1 tsp mint leaves
  • 1 green chili, minced
  • 1 red chili, broken into bits

For Garnishing

  • 1 tsp coriander leaves, chopped

Method

    1. Roast the rice rawa and the dal separately, till the raw smell disappears.
    2. Heat ghee and fry the seasoning ingredients.
    3. Add 3 cups of water along with the pepper powder add rice rawa and cumin powder and salt.
    4. When the water begins to boil, dal.
    5. Cook on a high flame for 5 minutes. Reduce      heat, cover the pan with the lid and cook on a slow fire till the contents are tender and dry.
    6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped coriander     1eaves either with chutney or curd.
