Savoury Semolina
Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina
- 1 cup sour curd
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
For Seasoning
- 1 tsp sesame (Til) oil
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 2 green chilies, minced
- 1/2 tsp ginger, grated
- 1 tsp curry leaves
For Garnishing
Method
- Roast the semolina till the raw smell disappears.
- When the semolina is cool, stir in the curd, salt and the coriander leaves. Mix the contents thoroughly and leave the semolina batter aside for1 hour.
- Heat oil and fry the seasoning ingredients. Pour it over the semolina batter. Mix the batter thoroughly.
- Pour the batter into idli moulds and steam for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped onion and any chutney or sambar spooned over it.
