Semolina Upma
Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina
- 2 tsp peas
- 2 tsp beans, shredded
- 2 tsp carrot, grated
- 2 tsp capsicum, chopped
- 1/4 tsp salt
For Seasoning
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
- 1/2 tsp urad dal
- 2 green chilies, minced
- 1 tsp curry leaves
For Garnishing
- 2 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
Method
- Roast the semolina till the raw smell disappears.
- Now heat the oil in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
- Stir in 2 ½ cups of water along with the salt.
- Add the vegetables and let it boil for 5 minutes.
- Finally, stir in the semolina and cook, constantly stirring on a high flame for a few minutes. Lower the flame, cover the pan with the lid and cook for few more minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with coriander leaves, curd or chutney.
