Sprout Idli

Ingredients

  • 1 cup idli batter
  • 1/2 cup moong sprouts
  • A pinch of salt

For Seasoning

  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard and cumin seeds
  • 1 green chili, minced
  • 1 red chili, broken into pieces
  • 1 tsp curry leaves

Method

    1. Cook the sprouts with a pinch of salt till just tender. Drain and reserve the liquid for use in another recipe.
    2. Heat oil and fry the seasoning ingredients.
    3. Now mix the idli batter cooked sprouts, fried seasoning ingredients, till well combined.
    4. Pour it into the idli mould and steam for 5 minutes.
    5. Serve hot with chutney or sambhar.
