Chukka Dal

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chukka, chopped
  • 1/3 cup among or tar dal
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For Seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp ghee or oil
  • 1 red chilli, broken into pieces
  • 1 green chili, minced
  • 1/2 tsp mustard and cumin seeds

Method

    1. Mix all the ingredients with the required quantity of water and pressure cook.
    2. Heat oil or ghee in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
    3. Stir in the cooked dal and cook for a minute.
    4. Serve hot with rice or chapati.
