Lemony Dal
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup tur or moong or masoor dal
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
- 2 tsp lime juice
For Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp ghee
- 1/2 tsp mustard and cumin seeds
- 2 red chilies, broken into pieces
- 1 tsp curry leaves
Method
- Pressure cook the dal along with the turmeric powder, asafoetida, salt and coriander leaves.
- Heat ghee in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
- Stir in the cooked dal and cook for a few minutes.
- When slightly cool, add the lime juice, mix the contents thoroughly.
- Serve with rice or chapatti.
