Mushroom Pullao

Ingredients

  • 8-10 button mushrooms, made into 2 halves
  • 1 cup basmati rice
  • 1 tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1 inch piece ginger
  • 3 flakes garlic
  • 1/2 cup coriander leaves
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp pepper and cumin powder
  • 1 tsp oil

Method

    1. Cook the mushrooms with half the quantity of salt till tender.
    2. Wash and soak the rice for an hour. Cook the rice with the remaining quantity of salt till tender.
    3. Grind tomato, onion, green chilies, ginger, garlic and the coriander leaves to a fine paste.
    4. Heat oil and fry the paste.
    5. Add mushrooms, garam masala powder, pepper and cumin powder along with the cooked rice. Mix thoroughly and cook till the contents are dry.
    6. Garnish the mushroom pullao with onion rings and serve hot.
