Peppered Dal

Ingredients

  • 8 french beans, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1/2 cup tar dal
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For Roasting

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp chana dal
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds

For Seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp ghee or oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp curry leaves

Method

    1. 1, Mix the beans, dal and salt along with the required quantity of water and pressure cook.
    2. Roast alt the ingredients given under roasting and powder it.
    3. Heat ghee or oil in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
    4. Add the cooked dal mixture, roasted powder and mix the contents thoroughly. Cook for a few more minutes.
    5. Serve hot with rice or dosa or chapati.
