Sour Methi Dal
Ingredients
- 1 cup fenugreek leaves, chopped
- 1/2 cup tur dal
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1/2 cup tamarind juice
- 1/4 tsp salt
For Seasoning
- 1/2 tsp ghee
- 1/2 tsp mustard and cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds
- 2 red chilies, broken into pieces
Method
- Mix the fenugreek leaves, dal, turmeric powder, asafoetida, tamarind juice and salt with a little quantity of water. Pressure cook.
- Now heat the ghee in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
- Stir in the cooked dal, mix the contents thoroughly and cook for few more minutes.
- Serve hot with rice or chapatti.
