Spinach Dal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup spinach, chopped
  • 1/2 cup tur or moong dal
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup tamarind juice
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For Seasoning

  • 1/2 tsp ghee or oil
  • 2 red chilies, broken into pieces
  • 1/2 tsp mustard and cumin seeds

Method

    1. Mix all the ingredients till well combined and pressure cook with little quantity of water.
    2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
    3. Add the cooked dal mixture and cook for a minutes.
    4. Serve hot with rice or chapatti.
