Dhokla

Ingredients

  • 1 cup gram flour
  • 1/2 cup sour curd
  • 2 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • A pinch of soda
  • A pinch of turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp coriander seeds, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt

For Seasoning

  • 1 tsp ghee or till oil
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 red chili, broken into pieces
  • 1 tsp curry leaves

Method

    1. Soak overnight, drain, dry and powder the fenugreek seeds.
    2. Mix the fenugreek powder, gram flour, curd, soda, turmeric powder, coriander leaves and salt till well combined. Add a little more curd if required. Leave the batter aside to ferment.
    3. Pour the batter onto a greased plate and steam for 5 minutes.
    4. Cut it into desired shapes and sizes.
    5. Heat ghee or oil and fry the seasoning ingredients. Pour it over the dhokla pieces.
