Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole green gram (moong) dal
  • 1 tsp rice
  • 2 tsp fenugreek seeds
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup minced onions
  • 2 green chilies, minced
  • 2 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 tsp oil

Method

    1. Soak the dal, rice and fenugreek seeds overnight and grind it next day coarsely, along with the required quantity of water and salt so as to form a loose batter.
    2. Spread one big spoonful of batter on a tava, as thinly as possible. Spread some of the onions, chilies and coriander leaves on it. Pour 1 tsp oil over its edges and turn over to cook the other side. Repeat the process with the remaining batter.
    3. Serve hot with chutney or sambhar.
