Savoury Soup
Ingredients
- 2 tsp cooked tur dal
- 1/2 cup thin tamarind juice
- 1 cup vegetable stock or water
- 1 tomato
- 2 flakes garlic
- 1/2 tsp mixture of pepper, cumin and coriander powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ghee or butter
For Garnishing
- 1 tsp coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 tsp curry leaves, roasted
Method
- Grind the tomato and garlic to a paste.
- Now mix the cooked dal, tamarind water, vegetable stock or water, tomato-garlic paste, salt and the mixture of pepper, cumin and coriander powder.
- Boil for 5 minutes and strain.
- Add butter or ghee and serve garnished with coriander and curry leaves.
