Upma
Ingredients
- 1 cup semolina
- 1 onion, minced
- 2 green chilies, minced
- 2 tsp curry leaves
- 2 tsp fenugreek seeds
For Seasoning
- 2 tsp oil
- 1/4 tsp urad dal
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
Method
- Soak the fenugreek seeds overnight, drain, dry and powder.
- Roast the semolina till the raw smell disappears.
- Mix the samolina and the fenugreek powder till well combined.
- Heat oil and fry the seasoning ingredients.
- Add the minced onion, chilies and the curry leaves and fry.
- Add 2 cups of water and then add salt to it.
- When the water begins to boil, add the semolina and cook till the contents thicken.
- Serve hot with chutney or sambhar.
