Bitter Prawn Curry
Ingredients
- 100 gm prawns, shelled and deveined
- 1 bitter gourd
- 1/2 tsp chili or sambhar powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- For Seasoning
- 1 tsp ghee
- 1 tsp curry leaves
- 1/2 tsp cumin and mustard seeds
Method
- Boil the prawns with half the quantity of salt till tender and dry.
- Wash, peel and cut the bitter gourd vertically and scoop out the seeds. Cut each half into 1 inch pieces. Boil the pieces with the remaining quantity of salt till tender.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
- Stir in the prawns and fry.
- Add cooked bitter gourd, chili or sambhar powder and the garam masala powder. Mix the contents thoroughly and cook for a few minutes.
- Serve with rice or chapatti.
