Prawn Sambhar
Ingredients
- 100 gm prawns shelled and deveined
- 1 cup tamarind juice
- 1/2 cup tur dal
- 1 tsp sambhar powder
- 1 tsp coriander leaves
- 1/2 tsp mint paste
- 1/4 tsp salt
For Seasoning
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp cumin and mustard seeds
- 1 red chili, broken into pieces
Method
- Boil prawns with half the quantity of salt till tender and dry. Cut each prawn into two pieces.
- Heat oil in a 2 liter cooker and fry the seasoning ingredients
- Stir in the prawn and fry.
- Add the dal, tamarind juice, sambhar powder, coriander leaves, and mint paste along with a little quantity of water and the remaining salt and pressure cook.
- Serve hot prawn sambhar with rice or chapatti.
