Bitter Gourd Curry
Ingredients
- 2 medium sized bitter gourd
- 1 tsp coriander-n-cumm powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- 2 tsp tamarind pulp
For Seasoning
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 red chili, broken into pieces
Method
- Wash, peel and slice the bitter gourds.
- Mix the bitter gourd slices, salt, turmeric powder and the tamarind pulp till well combined. Cook in little quantity of water till the bitter gourd slices are just tender. Drain if necessary.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the seasoning ingredients.
- Stir in the bitter gourd slices, and the coriander-cumin powder. Mix the contents thoroughly and cook for few more minutes.
- Serve hot with rice or chapatti.
