Bitter Gourd Gravy
Ingredients
- 2 medium sized bottle gourds
- 2 tomatoes
- 2 onions
- 2 green chills
- 2 tsp coriander leaves
- 1 tsp mint leaves
- 1/2 tsp poppy seeds
- 1/2 tsp sesame seeds
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
- 2 flakes garlic
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp oil
Method
- Wash, peel and cut each bitter gourd into two halves.
- Grind the tomatoes, onion, green chilies, coriander and mint leaves, ginger and garlic to a fine paste.
- Roast the poppy and the sesame seeds. Powder it.
- Heat oil in a pan and stir in the ground paste and fry.
- Now stir in the bitter gourd pieces, salt and the roasted powder.
- Cover the pan with the lid and with constant stirring, cook on slow fire till the vegetable is tender.
